Some people treat their pets as if they are family members. However, there are some who mistreat them and subject them to neglect and bad conditions. This is what happened to Libre. She is a four-year-old guard-dog who was left tied up day and night without food or water in an abandoned home in Cagua, Venezuela. Her chains were so tight that it made it difficult for her to breathe, and the length of her chain was so short that she couldn’t even lay down.
Luckily, her suffering finally ceased when the compassionate neighbors became aware of her owner’s mistreatment and promptly alerted both law enforcement and the nearby animal rescue organization.
Upon the arrival of the rescuers, Libre eagerly devoured all the food they brought for her as she was starving. Her neck had raw flesh due to the years of being tied to a tight metal chain that was finally removed by the rescuers. They took care of her wound and provided her with proper medical attention. Currently, Libre is living life to the fullest and is extremely grateful for the chance to start anew.
